THE COLLECTION

The collection includes artworks from the 17th century to the present day. It currently consists of approximately 90 objects, including paintings, prints, and drawings, as well as applied art such as glass, ceramics, silver, textiles, and furniture.

The subject matter is always related to bulbous plants: landscapes, still lifes, individual flowers. Aesthetic and symbolic values are the guiding principles in compiling the collection.

Eligible items include anything that depicts spring-flowering bulbous plants, such as tulips, daffodils, irises, etc., as a source of inspiration in a high-quality, artistic manner.

The collection features largely oil paintings, with a strong emphasis on works from the 20th century. Complementing these with art works using diverse techniques, including lithographs, etchings, watercolors, and (botanical) drawings, showcasing a rich variety of artistic expressions.

This part of the collection consists of decorative art objects such as furniture, tableware and jewellery. Especially objects made of glass and ceramics are well represented, but also textiles and silver are present.
