Kosta cameo glass belly vase with tulip decoration
Description
Kosta Boda was founded in 1742 and has its origins in the Swedish province of Småland, where its glass artworks are still designed and crafted by renowned Swedish glass designers and glassblowers. The Kosta Boda brand as we know it today emerged from a merger of glass factories in Kosta, Boda, and Åfors. The decoration on the pottery vase in the "De Witte Zwaan" collection is made using the cameo technique, using several layers of colored glass after which the image—in this case, tulips—is cut out and engraved.
