Rozenburg earthenware dish or wall plate with daffodil decoration

Description

The NV Haagsche plateelbakkerij Rozenburg was a pottery factory that operated from 1883 to 1914. One of the Rozenburg company's most important pottery painters was Sam Schellink. From 1897 onwards, he was co-responsible for both designing the decorative scenes and painting these products. The dish in the De Witte Zwaan collection is one of the highlights of the Rozenburg factory's pottery production. The Art Nouveau-style decoration, designed by Sam Schellink, features a number of daffodils, each depicted in a different way. Such plates were intended for decorative purposes, to be hung on the wall. Two holes are provided on the back for a hanging system.
